About FocusWize

A practical bridge between people and performance

FocusWize is an organisational performance consultancy. We help organisations hire, manage and retain neurodivergent people by changing how work is structured, not by changing the standard.

01 — The question we start with

Traditional conversations often begin with: “How can we support this employee?”

“What does the organisation need to change so capable people can reliably perform to the required standard?”

That shift matters. Effective inclusion is not only about making people comfortable. It is about creating conditions in which capable people can consistently deliver. We treat it as a human capital question: how to attract, develop and keep the capability your organisation depends on.

02 — Why FocusWize

Performance and inclusion are not a trade-off

01

High standards remain high.

Guardrails clarify expectations. They do not dilute them.

02

Accountability remains accountability.

Ownership, deadlines and outcomes become more explicit, not less.

03

The system becomes clearer.

The conditions around the work are examined and improved, so capable people can consistently deliver.

03 — Not an awareness programme

About performance, not just awareness

Neurodiversity awareness has an important place. But awareness alone does not solve a delivery problem. Our emphasis is on practical systems, management behaviour and workplace structures.

01Instead of telling managers: “Be more supportive.”

We give them a framework.

02Instead of telling employees: “Try harder.”

We examine the conditions around the work.

03Instead of treating neurodivergence as an abstract HR issue:

We translate it into everyday management practice.

04 — What employees gain

Better for the business. Fairer for the people doing the work.

FocusWize is not about managing people out or labelling them. It is about creating conditions where capable people can show what they can do.

01

Clarity

Knowing exactly what is expected and what “done” means.

02

Fairness

Being judged on outcomes, not on how well you cope with chaos.

03

Less compensating

Less energy spent working around poorly structured work.

04

A voice

A clear, safe route to ask for what helps, without needing to disclose a diagnosis.

05

Recognition

Strengths that are seen and used, not lost behind missed deadlines.

06

Consistency

The same clear standards, applied to everyone.

05 — Our scope and your data

Clear boundaries, by design

01

What we are

An organisational performance consultancy. We work on systems, processes and management practice.

02

What we are not

A clinical service. We do not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and no clinical relationship is formed with anyone. Anyone seeking assessment or treatment is directed to appropriate healthcare services.

03

Where we work

Because our work is non-clinical, we can support organisations in the UK and internationally, adapting recommendations to local employment law with your advisers.

How we handle information

  • We assess teams and systems, not individuals’ diagnoses.
  • Nobody is asked to disclose a condition to take part.
  • Survey responses are anonymised, and results are reported at team level with minimum group sizes.
  • In a working agreement, only what the employee agrees to is written down and shared.
  • We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and with equivalent laws where we operate.

06 — FAQ

Questions we are often asked

Isn’t this just good management?

Partly, and that is the point. Each Guardrail targets a point where neurodivergent people can meet friction: planning and finishing tasks, focus through interruptions, spoken instructions and busy environments. Fixing those points makes work clearer for everyone.

Do employees need a diagnosis to benefit?

No. Guardrails improve how work is structured for everyone, and nobody is asked to disclose a condition.

Is this a medical or clinical service?

No. FocusWize is organisational consultancy. We do not diagnose, treat or give medical advice.

Will you identify which employees are neurodivergent?

No. We assess systems and teams. Results are reported at team level.

Isn’t this preferential treatment?

No. Standards stay the same. Guardrails make expectations clearer and delivery more predictable for the whole team.

Do you work outside the UK?

Yes. Our work is non-clinical, and we adapt recommendations to local employment law with your advisers.

How quickly will we see results?

The Guardrail Snapshot gives you a prioritised action list within 3–4 weeks. The full audit measures change against the baseline over 3–6 months.

If you are neurodivergent and have views on how we describe this work, we would like to hear them. Get in touch.

See where good work gets stuck.

A focused 3–4 week diagnostic of one team or function. You see where friction is costing you performance and what to fix first, before committing to anything larger.
